Current status Protocol for 2012-2014 PAS - NASU: 50 common projects are planned with cooperation of 27 units of NASU and PAN More than 60 bilateral agreements of cooperation between units in Ukraine and Poland are active Many more individual cooperations are ongoing on personal and institutional basis

Development The unit was created in Kiev, in 2012, by

the Polish Academy of Sciences, in consultation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and the Ministry

of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

Objectives of Center Popularize the achievements of Polish

science in Ukraine Organize conferences, lectures, seminars, exhibitions and other

scientific events (with Polish finacial suport)

Objectives of Center Organize contacts between Polish and Ukrainian

scientific institutions (to be ready for eventual application in H2020)

Organize contacts of Polish researchers, who come to Ukraine, with Ukrainian research

institutions Assist Ukrainian researchers in dealing with Polish

scientific workers and research institutions

Objectives of Center Publish scientific publications resulting from the activities of Center Submit of proposals and suggestions on the directions of the Polish - Ukrainian scientific and technical cooperation

Objectives of Center Support students and doctorants exchange between both countries Centre operates in accordance with the Statute given by the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences

Motivation National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Universities in Ukraine are one of the most important foreign partners of the Polish Academy of Sciences and polish science

Motivation Many Polish Universities and Institutes cooperate closely with Universities and Institutes in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv, as well as in other scientific centres of Ukraine

Motivation Center is established to maintain and further develop scientific and scientific-technical cooperation between the Republic of Poland and Ukraine

Motivation Center works in this area together with the Polish Embassy in Kiev, Polish Consulates, Ukraine National Academy of Sciences and Universities, organizations and other research and technology centers in the country.

Motivation As important, should be considered a declaration of the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, prof. B. Paton to establish also the Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Warsaw

Expected results Joint conferences in various fields of science Joint publications of Polish and Ukrainian scientists in major scientific magazines Joint patents and implementations Participation in cooperative projects

Expected results Participation in projects, with funding from national and European sources, where in addition to the technological part, will be part of the scientific research

Expected results Development of scientific contacts, mutual knowledge and understanding
