NOTEWORTHY EVENTS
• May 1st- Suspects arrested after a pursuit and backpack with firearms inside was thrown. The backpack contained an AK-47 style rifle, a handgun.
• May 3rd- Our very first “Play Date With Police” event was a huge success!! Our Fontana police officers had a blast playing with our youngest members of our community.
• May 7th- The Fontana Police Department’s Rapid Response Team (RRT) worked with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Rancho Cucamonga station on a case and recovered over 280 stolen catalytic converters .
• May 12th- Detectives from the Fontana Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested two individuals for transmitting child pornography.
• May 13th- Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) officers arrested a subject for identify theft and impersonating a police officer.
• May 13th- FPD hosted the annual San Bernardino County Fallen Officer Memorial Ceremony
• May 15th- Personnel and Training hosted a practice physical agility test for potential officers and cadets.
• May 16th- Between 8am-12pm, FPD Animal Services hosted a drive-thru pet vaccine & microchip clinic
• May 17th- Gang Unit conducted a traffic stop which led to the seizure of two illegal AR-15 style rifles
• May 18th- FPD Traffic Unit conducted DUI Checkpoint. Two impaired drivers were arrested.
• May 20th- Chief Green released a community video in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month.
• May 25th- The FPD COPE Unit hosted Coffee with Cops
