Chromebook rules and guidelines

✘ Chromebooks are the property of Anderson School District Five. They are on loan, much like a textbook.

✘ Chromebooks are to be used for educational purposes. (Your own devices should be used for entertainment, games, etc. not the Chromebooks)

13

Chromebook rules and guidelines

✘ All files created are subject to review and monitoring by the district - keep in mind nothing you do is completely private on the Chromebooks!

✘ Students must log in using their assigned school login.

14

Unacceptable Use:

15

✘ Using someone else’s user account

✘ Cheating✘ Cyberbullying✘ Adding viruses to the network✘ Attempting to access blocked

content on the network✘ Downloading music, games,

images, videos or other media without teacher permission

✘ Sending or forwarding social or non-school related email

✘ Using the network for illegal activities

✘ Copyright✘ Downloading or installing apps

without teacher permission✘ Accessing material that is not

content/curriculum related✘ Vandalizing the equipment or

others Chromebooks✘ Gaining unauthorized access

anywhere on the network✘ Invading the privacy of others

Be a Good Digital Citizen

16

✘ Respect copyright and intellectual property laws.

✘ Stand up and report cyberbullying when you see it

✘ Respect yourself and others

✘ Protect your private information

✘ Stay Safe Online✘ Balance the time you

spend on line. Don’t stay up all night online.

✘ Carefully manage your digital footprint

Working without and internet

connection

✘ An internet connection is not required for the Chromebook to be valuable and productive. Many Google and Chrome applications (including Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides) allow for offline access. The student can work offline and sync to the network as soon as they come back on campus.

Your Chromebook is monitored

by Anderson School District 5

at all times, at school and at

home.
