The SX25 series of single disc row units from Boss Agriculture are available
as parallelogram mounted units or as single pivoting arm units with a
spring or hydraulic ram used to control down pressure when seeding.
The unit has an 18” disc running in the ground at an operating angle of 7
degrees from front to back and 21 degrees up and down, this creates a
very narrow trench which runs down at an angle in the ground allowing
seed and fertilised to be dropped in beside the disc and then firmed
with a press wheel over the top located behind the disc. The benefits of
running an undercut disc include:
• Ability to penetrate very tight soils with minimal down force or frame
weight required
• Avoids hair-pinning in most soil types
• Ability to plant at the maximum depth in testing conditions
• Less horsepower required on wider machines because a heavy over-
engineered frame is not required to drive units into the ground.
• Unique seed trench created that gives better seed to soil contact
Other key features of the SX25 & SX25P row unit that improves
performance include a unique spoked cleaning wheel which operates
beside the disc and in sticky conditions allows mud to be shed off the
disc with a tungsten blade out through the spoked cleaning wheel.
The spoke wheel also provides easy visual inspection to the disc hub
and internal scraper operations. Cleaning wheels can be fitted with an
active stainless steel scraper ring which increases tyre life and extends
operation in sticky conditions. This allows the row unit to start planting
earlier and finish later making better use of available moisture and getting
the crop in the ground faster.
As mentioned above the SX25 series is fitted with a spoked cleaning
wheel beside the disc, this wheel can be fixed or spring loaded (seed
depth is governed off the press wheel) this makes sure the seed trench
is not compacted prior to the press wheel running over the trench.
The SX25P parallelogram row unit is identical to a standard SX25 except it
is mounted onto a parallelogram giving the unit an extra 12” of travel in the
vertical plane. This improves the row units accuracy and ability to plant
into melon-hole country or contoured farming areas.

parallelogram twin disc opener which delivers optimum seed
placement and can be configured with a precision box or an air
seeding delivery system depending on your requirements. The
unit has been developed for minimum or no-till broadacre farming
applications where a tough, simple, highly accurate planter is
required. The double disc unit offers superior seed placement,
excellent ground following ability and minimal ground disturbance/
moisture loss.
The DX 50 is built on experience with a number of key features
that set it apart from other double disc openers:
• The parallelogram clamps to an RHS toolbar in the diamond
position to ensure the unit locks in and is not able to twist
on the toolbar.
• The parallelogram features a simple, easy to use pin
arrangement for adjusting the down force, all parallelogram
pivots are fitted with replaceable bushes and chrome plated
pins for reliable & smooth operation.
• Each unit can be individually pinned up when operating on wide
or skip row spacings.
• The DX50 has trailing gauge wheel arms which pivot on an
extra wide 120mm bushing ensuring durability in the toughest
broadacre conditions.
• Gauge wheel arms are fitted with replaceable bushes and
axles which also walk independently to maximise seeding
depth accuracy.

• Gauge wheels are a spoke design which in sticky conditions
allows mud shed off the disc by tungsten blades to flow out
through the spoked gauge wheel.
• Gauge wheels can be fitted with an active stainless steel
scraper ring which increases tyre life and extends operation
in sticky conditions.
• Twin 16” discs are mounted on durable tapered roller bearings
with triple lip seals.
• Discs operate at opposing 4 degrees for a narrow seed
trench which reduces down force requirements and creates
a smaller “Vee” to close.
• Available with optional solid fertiliser and/or liquid fertiliser
tubes which are easy to access and adjust without interfering
with seed placement.
• Press wheels are heavy duty running on tapered roller
bearings with easy T-handle pressure adjustment and can be
run offset or opposing depending on ground conditions.
• The DX50 double disc opener units are available as individual
row units or complete planters with various options.
Linkage Framessuits TX,SX25,SX25P & DX50 series row units
Boss linkage frames are available in 8”x 8” frames and 4” x 4” frames
in widths up to 18 metres with end tow, lift assist and several
folding options to suit most requirements. Our 8” RHS frame can
also be fitted with a remote 4” toolbar to allow for varied wheel
track and row spacings.

Boss Agriculture’s TX series of parallelogram tyne planting units
are a robust minimum tillage row that have excellent trash
handling ability and deliver uniform seed placement in uneven
ground conditions.
The Boss Ag TX range of parallelogram tyne planters are available
in both hydraulic and spring release models with a number of
features that set them apart from other tyne parallelograms.
The TX series is available in 3 different breakouts:
• TX45 - 450lb spring breakout
• TX65 - 650lb spring breakout
• TX80 - 800lb hydraulic breakout

From the parallelogram mount to the press wheel the TX series
of units have been designed to deliver precise seed depth control
and be simple to operate and maintain.
The parallelogram clamps diagonally to an RHS toolbar to ensure
the unit locks in and is not able to twist on the frame, this also
means the unit can be easily repositioned on the toolbar if required.
The parallelogram features a simple, easy to use pin arrangement
for adjusting the down force, all parallelogram pivots are fitted
with replaceable bushes and 1¼”chrome plated pins for reliable &
smooth operation.
The TX parallelogram series has a coulter assembly that runs
in front of the tyne controlling operating depth. The coulter
assembly operates with 2 half wheels running either side of an 18”
or 20” coulter disc that cuts through the trash & fractures the
soil, this reduces tyne blow out and allows the planter to operate
in heavy trash with reduced disturbance and lower horsepower
requirements. The coulter assembly runs on a greasable Holden
hub fitted with marine seals.

Boss Agricultures TX series
are fitted with a heat treated low draft planting tyne with pin
adjustable depth control in ½” increments. The tyne assembly has
a removable seed boot which means it can be easily replaced with
different attachments for applying anhydrous gas, or simply pulled
off to be hard faced back in the workshop without removing the
tyne. The tyne box assembly is heavily constructed to handle the
constant load it operates under, again fitted with replaceable
bushes and 1¼” chrome plated pins.
The TX series press wheel assembly is a robust assembly with
some unique features for ease of operation and longevity. The
press wheel pressure is pin adjustable with a positive locking pin
that self locates when increasing or decreasing the press wheel
pressure. The main press wheel arm pivots on a central boss that
is located in-line with the press wheel & parallelogram to increase
operating life and reduce maintenance requirements; this pivot
assembly is also fitted with the same replaceable bushes and
1¼” chrome plated pins used throughout the row unit. The press
wheels are fitted to a greasable Holden hub and available in solid
or pneumatic with a number of different profiles to choose from.

Paraflex Framessuits SX25,SX25P & DX50 series row units
Boss Agriculture’s unique Paraflex frame is a trailing unit fitted
with a floating hitch designed specifically for farming over contour
banks. The simple and robust 2 bar sectional frame is available in
widths up to 120ft with single and double fold options available.
The main benefits of the Paraflex frame compared to conventional
planting frames is its ability to follow contoured, undulating or
melon hole country with precision, allowing seeding depth to be
as accurate as possible for fast and even crop germination. The key
to achieving this lies in the frame design. Common wheel bridge
frames fitted with large flotation tyres suspend a multi-sectional
frame with the ability to not only flex up & down but also fore and
aft allowing the frame to twist over the length of the machine.
The suspended sectional frame minimises stress being transferred
back into the wheel frames to improve the frame life and help
maintain the frames integrity. The Paraflex Frames engineered
toughness means the frame is a very open design for accessibility
without compromising its strength and durability.
Trailing Framessuit TX series of row units
Boss Agriculture’s range of trailing frames are constructed of 100 x
100 x 9mm RHS with plated joints on both the top and underside
of the frame to ensure maximum strength & durability. The proven
frame design built with experience ensures no dead weight is
carried with all cross members load carrying or supportive, this
allows for some flexibility with row spacing’s and provides better
access to row units for servicing.
Boss Agriculture’s trailing frames are available in 2 models:
• Floating Hitch
• Para-Lift
The floating hitch model is designed for farming in contoured or
undulating country as it provides greater flexibility between the
tractor and implement. The para-lift design is suited to reasonably
flat conditions and provides more weight being transferred onto
the tractor for better traction.
Trailing frames are available up to 36 metres wide in a number of
configurations including:
• Single bar – single/double fold or end tow
• 2 bar – single/double fold or end tow
• 3 bar - single/double fold or end tow
• 4 bar - single/double fold or end tow
A key benefit of Boss Agricultures trailing frames is the incorporation
of our flexing centre section as standard in floating hitch machines
which allows the centre section of the machine to flex. This
provides superior ground following ability and also greatly improves
the stability of the machine when folded up as it allows for even
weight distribution when travelling.
