PIGMENT DENSITY Pigments are listed from lowest density at the top left to highest density at the bottom right. Each (single) pigment density is expressed relative to water (1.00) under the pigment name. The line under each pigment also indicates their relative weight.

Movement in color pours can be influenced by pigment densities. Paints with lower density pigment may rise or stay on the surface of a pour, while higher density paints could sink. Layering heavy pigments over lighter pigments may lead to the development of patterns or cells.
