Students capture highlights from their
winter break
WHILE IN COLORADO, Ayesha Swaich (10) leans towards the train tracks.
Swaich participated in many outdoor activities while on her trip and visited
her friends and family that live there.”I saw my friend Adele one of the days I
was there and we got to go tubing and ice-skating and it was so much fun. On New Years I went to a party for mostly
older people and overall my trip was awesome,” Swaich said.
MOUTH OPEN, CATCHING
SNOWFLAKES ON HER TONGUE, Rebekah
Brunelle (10) embraces the below
freezing temperatures. She visited New York
and Niagra Falls for four days to see her mother’s side of the
family. “My favorite thing about the trip
was going ice skating with my two cousins.
They’re two and three and watching them
skate was really funny,”
Brunelle said.
MID-LEAP OVER THE SIDE OF THE BOAT, Drew Buckley (12), embraces the tropical climate of Turks and Caicos.
She went snorkeling, boating, and spent time on the beaches with her family and friends. “I was really happy the whole trip and I really didn’t want to leave because I
felt so peaceful being there,” Buckley said.

SNOW FLYING IN THE AIR, Mckenna Tagg (11) smiles in the
woods in Winter Park, Colorado. Tagg spent her trip bonding with
her family while skiing and hiking. “My favorite memory from that
trip would have to be deciding to race my dad down the mountain on small trails through the trees and hearing a loud smack. So, I decided to stop and look back,
only to see my dad- who has skied for the past 40 years- wrapped
around a tree,” Tagg said.
PLACESSUN SETTING, Brenton Wadsworth (12) looks off into the distance. Wadsworth was spending time off the beach of Georgetown with friends on the boat. “I had a good time hanging out with my girlfriend and other friends, it was a really good boating day,” Wadsworth said.
WITH HANDS ON HER HAT AND A SMILE ON HER FACE, Meghan Gramling (11) walks around Central Park. It had been snowing all day when Gramling and her mom decided to walk down to the park. “It was really pretty and cool because it was definitely not anything like Florida weather,” Gramling said.
SNOW ON THE GROUND, Ansley Melendi (11) smirks as she poses for the camera. Over winter break she traveled to Kansas City, Missouri to visit her grandparents. “ It was really nice to spend Christmas with my grandparents and spend some time in the snow,” Melendi said.
NEW YORK CITY SKYLINE FILLING THE BACKGROUND, Emily Hines (10) peers down the Empire State building. Hines traveled with her family, part of an annual tradition of visiting New York over winter break. “I loved my trip to New York. I saw three plays and we went to this restaurant. It’s called Bill’s Bar and Burgers which had really good milkshakes,” Hines said.
FRAMED BY THE COLORADO
MOUNTAINS, Mackenzie Herman
(12) poses for a picture with her brother.
Over winter break, the Herman family traveled
to Bachelor Gulch Village to ski. “It was a
really pretty area and it was fun to spend time
with my family, but I ended up in the hospital with altitude sickness so I only got a couple good pictures,” Herman said.
