-China's tier I crystalline-silicon PV module manufacturers are on course to cut production costs to 36c per watt by the end of 2017, a reduction of 14c from costs at the end of 2012, according to a report from GTM Research published recently.-Manufacturers such as Jinko Solar, Renesola, Trina Solar and Yingli Green Energy will derive the majority of their cost reductions from technology innovations such as diamond wire sawing for PV wafers, advanced metallization solutions and increased automation in place of manual labor.
