Energy yied is about more than just efciency, it is aso

about avaiabiity. Contro Techniques PV inverter soutions

enabe investors to exceed their return on investment (ROI)

expectations through high yied inverter systems. These are

designed and manuactured by our proessiona engineers and

controed through our dedicated project management teams,

to meet your required timescaes. Our SPV systems are backed

by guarantees to ensure perormance is maintained over theietime o the pant.

Modular inverter systems for proven availability

Control Techniques SPV systems are a range of transformerless

central inverters for PV installations from 145kWp to 1.76MWp.

Each inverter is constructed using multiple standard 175kW

modules (except SPV145 and SPV175 which are single 145kWp

and 175kWp inverter modules). Based on a mature design, our

inverter modules are mass produced for both industrial and PV

applications. Proven to be reliable and robust, Control Techniques

inverter modules improve availability whilst simplify global supply

    chains and minimising spares holding.

    Emerson your bankable partner

Control Techniques is a key member of American company

Emerson. Emerson is a diversied global manufacturing company

that brings technology and engineering together to provide

innovative solutions to customers. Each of Emersons businesses

is in an industry leading position, with a global workforce of more

than 140,000 employees, 265 manufacturing facilities and a very

strong balance sheet, making it a truly bankable partner. Emerson

has the infrastructure, knowledge, and experience to deliver its

technology and product solutions to customers around the world.

Intelligent Inverter Management (IIM) control to maximise yield

Control Techniques SPV inverter systems incorporate IIM to control

the active and standby status of each inverter module. This has

benets in energy efciency and increased reliability:

    Enhanced efciency

Modularity allows the active inverter capacity to be continuously

scaled to optimise energy efciency for all conditions and allows

the system to begin generating sooner in low light conditions.

The result is Control Techniques PV inverters achieve up to 98.0%

peak and 96.7% using the EU weighting factor.

    Enhanced avaiabiity

In the event of an inverter module trip, the system automatically

recongures to continue generating. For critical applications

built-in redundancy can be incorporated within the system to

maintain maximum output with minimum investment. The

active and standby duty for each module is rotated so that

    generating capacity is shared.

Control Techniques was founded in 1973,specialising in innovative, high performance

power conversion technologies. Since 1996Control Techniques has been a part of

Emerson, a global company with a longstanding reputation for high quality and excellentnancialperformance.

Engineering and project management solutions to meet your needs

Control Techniques can provide as much or as little of the PV inverter

system as you need, from an inverter to a complete turnkey solution

incorporating all power components. This includes string connection

boxes, shelter with transformer and MV/HV switchgear which is,

engineered to ensure compliance with local grid-connection codes.

Integration with equipment from local and international suppliers

can easily be accommodated to reduce transport costs and improvelead times.

Photovoltaic power plants generate a returnon investment through payments for energythat is fed on to the power grid. The amountof energy is the yield which is a function of efciencyandavailability.ROIisextremely

    to both these factors.

    Control Techniques SPV inverter system

Greater yield at low irradiance levels

A key differentiator of Control Techniques' SPV system is our

ability to enhance yield at low irradiance levels as the modular

inverter solution dynamically re-sizes to match generated power.

The following graph demonstrates how this increases efciency,

which remains above 96% at only 3% of full load. This compares to

conventional bulk inverters where the efciency begins to reduce

severely below 20% of full load. Yield at low load is particularly

important in temperate climates such as northern Europe.

    High accuracy MPPT algorithm

To ensure maximum power is obtained from PV arrays, Control

Techniques' unique Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)

algorithm is optimised for accuracy for both crystalline and thin

lm solar panels. The system is able to adapt rapidly to fast moving

weather conditions across a wide temperature range.

SPV1800 efficiency and power gain compared with a conventional

    bulk inverter

Inlowsolarirradiancelevels,Control Techniques inverters start generating power

soonerandwithgreaterefciencythanconventional bulk inverter solutions witha turn-on/turn-off threshold of less than900W.

    Compact and easy to manage

    Each inverter module is compact

and light weight so that it can

be handled easily by one person.

    Modularity does not impact overall

    dimensions, a 1MW inverter

    measures only 3.6 metres wide.

    Warranty and service contracts

    Control Techniques inverters are

    supplied with a 2 year on-site

    warranty as standard. Extended

    warranties and service contracts

are available to ensure energy yield

is maintained over the lifetime of

the plant. These can be sold as part

of the capital package or funded

    annually.

Control Techniques inverters are extremelyreliable, however, if one module does fail,

the rest keep generating and because theyare compact, one person can handle themaintenance or replacement.
