Sunday 25th November sawalmost 70 junior and seniorstudents from acrossPhoenix Taekwondo cometogether for our WinterGrading Examination. Asusual we had an externalgrading examiner and ourthanks go out to PabloBaldwin for taking the timeto travel up to us fromLondonfortheday.Manyofyoumayrememberthatthelast time we had the sameexaminerweweretreatedtoanextremelytoughgrading,especiallyforouradvancedgrades,resultinginafairnumberofunsuccessfulstudents,infactalmost1in10.Thistimearoundwasnodifferentinseverity,howeverwewerepleasetoannouncethatwemanageda100%passrate,reflectingallthehardworkthathasgoneintoeveryone’sTaekwondooverthepastyear.ThegradingpresentationwasheldonthenextnormalFridayclassandwewerereallypleasedtosee

somanyofour students turningup forthepresentation, includingmanyofourPhoenixBlackBelts!SpecialcongratulationsgoouttoourGradingMerit Certificatewinners: Tegan and Felix, specifically for exhibiting thebestTaekwondospirit;Nathanformostimprovedperformance;andLukefor a very hotly contested highest grading score.We also had 4 of ourstudentscompletingtheinfamousBlackStripegrading;theirfinalgrading

A Fantastic Performance at the Little Dragons Belt Grading

Phoenix Black Belt Makes Headlines at St Birinus School

OurLittleDragonsBeltGradingwasheldduringtheLittleDragons class on Friday 9th November, with over 30participants. The Belt Grading gives our Little Dragons achance to earn a new belt and allows us to assess theirprogress in mastering the basic skills of Taekwondo. Thestandard at thisgradingwas incrediblyhigh and we wereextremely impressed,not only with theTaekwondo itself butalso with how the Little Dragons conducted themselvesthroughout.Itisalwaysimportanttoremembertheyoung

age of our LittleDragons, and to beable to standup insmall groups toperform in front ofothers is a greatachievement! All

our Little Dragons were presented with their new beltsand grading certificates the following week. Specialcongratulations go out to our Grading Merit Certificatewinners Thea for best performance, Amelia for highestscore and Rohan for most improved student!
