TWO FACES OF AMERICA
AL HEROE NACIONAL/ TO THE NATIONAL HERO
BY: CECILIO APOSTOL
Filipinos don't realize that victory
is the child of struggle, that joy
blossoms from suffering, and
redemption is a product of sacrifice.
He who would love much has also much to suffer.
AL YANKEE/ TO THE YANKEE
In this poem, the
poet attacks American
Imperialism. Throughout
our country's modern
history, we have been under the
clout of the United
States of America.
In almost every aspect of our government's policy making
since our independence,
America has had a hand in it directly
or indirectly.
But there will come a time when our "puppet" country will cut its strings and start acting on it’s own from the "puppeteer" United States.

sa pasugalan.
Isinalaysay sa “Ang
Pangginggera” ang buhay ng
babaeng napariwara
dahil sa pagkakalulong
sa sugal na “panggingge.
HINIGOP NG SUGAL
.” Ang panggingge ang ninuno ngayon ng
tong-its, sakla, at poker, at
siyang paboritong laro
sa mga pasugalan,
gaya sa Santo Cristo sa
Binondo noong siglo 1900.
PINAGLAHUAN
Tagalog novel

Faustino Aguilar

century when the worker's

accusation and loses his love,
Danding, to his rival Rojalde, son

PANULAT
Poem is about a writer who believes
that writing is such a powerful tool that it can
be the source of a country's downfall or
success.
For him if it will only ruin
the society he'd rather mot take
advantage of the power of his
words in writing
Rather he will write for the
betterment of the country.
