Ben Franklin’s grave site

Called the "Nation's Church," this Episcopalian church has been an active parish since 1695

Here the American Episcopal Church was born.

It is where Benjamin Franklin, Robert Morris, Betsy Ross, Benjamin Rush and George Washington worshipped. The steeple, financed by a lottery organized by Franklin, was the tallest structure in the colonies for 83 years.

Franklin Court

The house was 3 stories high, covered 33 feet square, and included 10 rooms. No historical records of the look of the exterior exist. The space occupied by the house is marked by a "Ghost Structure“ built in 1976 for the bicentennial.

You can look through portals to see into Franklin's privy pits, wells, and foundation

The house was razed (torn down) in 1812.

The Liberty Bell rang for public announcements.

It may have rung on July 8, 1776 to announce the first public reading of The Declaration of Independence.

The Liberty Bell, which weighs about 2,000 pounds, was silenced by a crack in 1846.

The inscription : "Proclaim Liberty throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants thereof“ - Leviticus 25, v.10, The Bible.

• Both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were created and debated here.

It became the principal meeting place of the Second Continental Congress from 1775 to 1783.

• The Constitutional Convention met

here in the summer of 1787

We’ll watch a 17-minute multi-media and live action presentation called "Freedom Rising."

It combines film, a live actor and video projection on a 360-degree screen

In the museum you will be asked to fill out a sheet of questions.
