Two types of GoalsThe two types of goals in sport are;

Performance goals Outcome goals

Performance GoalsDirectly related to the performance or technique, E.G?In netball or football to improve passing or shooting

technique

Outcome GoalsThese are concerned with the end result.Winning or loosing...So in netball and football, to win the game or to win

the tournament.It may also be to score this penalty or not

Outcome and Performance goals Outcome goals can be split into;

Long termMedium term Short term

Performance goals end to be short term

GoalsGoals can affect performance in a number of ways:1 They focus your attention and concentration2 they direct your efforts in a particular way3 They increase the amount of effort4 They motivate you, to create a number fo strategies

to be successful
