What are Performance Management Plans?

Performance Plan Population

• Performance plans can be targeted at:

– Supervisors

– Organisations – including ability to specify how many levels of the Organisation Hierarchy to apply to and specify the starting Organisation

Performance Plan Objective Setting Method :Cascade Objective Setting Process

• Employee at start of process has to set their Objectives prior to beginning the process for their employees in the Supervisor Hierarchy

• Once completed the Supervisor can cascade objectives to their employees who can the review and return to their manager for final sign off

• Employees cannot start their objective setting until their supervisor has completed theirs and started the process.

Performance Plan Objective Setting Method:Parallel Objective Setting Process

• Supervisors and Employees can define and set objectives at the same time in the process.

• Employee objectives are sent to their supervisor for approval before being set.

Supervisor and Manager Objective Setting Process

• Cascade Performance Management Plan• Employee at top of the plan population sets their

objectives, then sets/cascades objectives to employees below them in the supervisor hierarchy. A period is defined in the plan for Objective setting to be completed by.

• Employee reviews and amends as appropriate and returns to the supervisor for sign off

• Supervisor finishes the process• Employee/Supervisor updates Objects through

Performance Plan applicable dates

Supervisor Allocation of Objectives to Employees

• Once the supervisor at the top of the Plan Population has created their objectives, switching to Manager/Supervisor Self Service allows the allocation of Objectives to their employees

• These can be new or cascaded objectives. Cascaded objectives are derived from the Supervisors own objectives

• Supervisor reviews objectives and finishes the objective setting process
