Since 2005, Pedro hasbeen traveling the world studying vine roots and their terroir. Aftermore than 25000 calicatas (pits) around the world, Pedro realizes thatthere is no place like home and decided to start Parra Family Wines.Granite and schist are now his every day companions.

    "Pencopolitano comes from PENCO, an old spanish enclave wherethe City of Concepcion was established and fisicaly persisted for morethan 250 years. It was totally destroyed by the big Tsunami of 1758.PENCOPOLITANO means citizen of Concepcion, my city, Capital ofthe Itata Valley and terroir for all of my wines." Pedro Parra

    Wine description:Pencopolitano is a red blend from 6 different vineyards, all of themOld vines, from Cauquenes and Itata. All the vineyards are composedwith red granite soils, dry farmed, and many of them field blends.The wine is about red fruit flavours and complex soil notes alongwith hints of chamomile. In the mouth the wine shows an incrediblemineral attack from the granite soil, very fresh and long. This wineholds natural acidity and no oak.

    Ageing in Cement and Stainless steel for 1 year

    Soilred quartzic granite

    Vinification process: Native yeast, very low extraction by soft and short pumping over.Malolactic, no carbonic. Light filtration.

    60 to 110 years old vines

    Yield 6.000 vines / ha1,2 kilo / vine
