graphite with rope and wrote with it.• The wooden pencils were made after the graphite pencils.• The can be made into different textures and colors.• There are also mechanical pencils that are used now.• The mechanical pencil is probably the most popular pencil because

the pencil is reusable.• The mechanical pencil has replaceable lead and erasers. • The mechanical pencils also has a hard cover so it’s not as easy to

break.

Different Types of Pencils

• Graphite Pencils-They were used mostly by the Aztecs and probably after the wooden pencils were made.

• Wood Pencils-These pencils are still used today and one of the most common types of pencils.

• Mechanical Pencils-They can be used over and over again and they are also one of the most common types of pencils.

• There are many more pencils other than these three.
