What is all this junk?

• Rice was the first grain ever farmed in China. Its use dates back to 5000 B.C.

• Millet was most used in Northern China because its dry and cold climate could not grow rice

• Rice Wine is a Chinese Delicacy

• Starting in 3000 B.C. tea became one of China’s most popular drinks

EEW! AREN’T THERE ANY

NORMAL RESTAURANTS?!

Well, actually, by 5500 B.C., Chinese people were eating chicken from

Thailand and pork, which is native to China.

What you’re eating is tofu. It was a vegetarian protein source for Buddhists, created around 1000 A.D.http://ezinearticles.com/?Ancient-Chinese-Food&id=1143459

Wait a minute!

This doesn’t taste like chicken!

Change Throughout Dynasties

• Different dynasties brought new foods to the cuisine of China

• China’s food reached it’s peak during the Qing Dyansty

•Man Han Quan Xi: dinner that combines all of the flavors of the Man and the Han

Finally, a good

restaurant, but where

are the forks?!

Chopsticks!Just two sticks can help you pick up and eat virtually any food you can

think of!

Chopsticks determine the way Chinese

food is presented at

the table!Did you know

that chopsticks are considered an art in itself?
