She will alsodetailsomeofthetragediesofLincoln’spersonallife,discusssomeoftheKentuckianswhowerehisintimates,andhighlightexcerpts
fromhisexquisitespeeches.ShewillalsoshareinsightsandstoriesfromherattendanceatLincolnForumSymposia,whichareheldannuallyinGettysburg.Inaddition,asMs.HopewellisaresidentoftheNutmegState,thelecturewillincludeinformationaboutConnecticut‘sroleintheWar,includingHarrietBeecherStowe’sconnectiontoCincinnati,theCopperheadmovementinConnecticut,and1860and1864PresidentialelectionresultsfornearbyConnecticuttowns. As was notably the case in a dividedWestchester County, many Connecticuttowns voted against Abraham Lincoln in his bid for re-election in 1864, includingHopewell’sownBrookfield.Ms.HopewellgrewupinNorthernKentucky,nearCincinnati.SheearnedaB.S.inmath,and an MBA. After working for ten years in marketing research, she became ahomemaker.
