social discrimination, public disempowerment and much else

besides.”

“Programme Paragon is aimed at helping to shape

the organisation for the future and is linked to the

five key drivers for change.”

Chief Constable Chris Simms, 2009

judgement of our people• A stronger approach to partnerships• Pursuing organisational change based upon

the simplification of our mission and structure

• Projecting our message locally and nationally

Step 1

The perceived difference between mainstream and alternative media:

The notion of ‘community’ - serving a local or dispersed community - being produced and controlled by the community - through the key idea of participation.

Step 2

The role of diasporic media in helping diasporic communities to overcome social and cultural exclusion.

Step 3

Rhizome (Deleuze & Guattari, 1987) and ‘Jamming’

“The fluidity of the seemingly strict boundaries that structure previous approaches”

.... mixed together, mashed-up and shared.

Step 4

Open up the WM Police website to allow for reader comments

(moderated, of course)

Step 5

Ensure that all mainstream media messages support and promote the alternative media platforms, always.

Be prepared for elements to fail
