“COMMEMORATE THIS DAY, THE DAY YOU CAME OUT OF EGYPT, OUT OF THE LAND OF SLAVERY, BECAUSE THE LORD BROUGHT YOU OUT OF IT WITH A MIGHTY HAND.” “CELEBRATE THIS DAY AS A LASTING ORDINANCE FOR THE GENERATIONS TO COME.” (EXODUS 13:3, 12:7)

ALL: “FOR CHRIST, OUR PASSOVER LAMB, HAS BEEN SACRIFICED. THEREFORE LET US KEEP THE FESTIVAL.”(I CORINTHIANS 5:7, 8)

The Four Cups

Each of the Four Cups of Passover stands for one of the four "I

wills" of Exodus 6:6-7:

• Sanctification: "I will bring you out from under the burdens of

the Egyptians."

• Judgment: "I will rescue you from their bondage."

• Redemption: "I will redeem you with an outstretched arm."

• Praise: "I will take you as My people."

1ST CUP WINESANCTIFICATION

When Judas had eaten the bread, Satan entered into him.

Then Jesus told him, "Hurry and do what you're going to

4 QUESTIONS

The Youngest: Why is this night different from all other nights?!

On all other nights we eat either leavened or unleavened bread. Why on this night do we eat only

unleavened bread?!

On all other nights we eat all kinds of herbs. Why on this night do we eat especially bitter herbs?!

On all other nights we do not dip herbs in anything. Why on this night do we dip them in salt water

and haroses?!

On all other nights we eat without special festivities. Why on this night do we hold this Passover

service?!

3RD CUPCUP OF REDEMPTION

As they were eating, Jesus took some bread

and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and

gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and

eat it, for this is my body.”

27And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks

to God for it. He gave it to them and said,

“Each of you drink from it, 28for this is my

blood, which confirms the covenante between

God and his people. It is poured out as a

sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. 29Mark

my words—I will not drink wine again until the

day I drink it new with you in my Father’s

Kingdom.”

30Then they sang a hymn and went out to the

Mount of Olives.
