ParentVUEAN OVERVIEW

What is ParentVUE?• Provides parents near real-time access to information on assignments and grades,

attendance, class schedules, graduation status and more.

• Offers a single sign-on to view school information for all children, regardless of the grade level or school of attendance.

• Available as a mobile app for iOS and Android devices or via the web-based parent portal.

• Parents can review and update contact information for themselves and their children.

• Communication tools promote contact between home and school necessary for student success.

• Secure access using https:// protocol.

Activate ParentVUE Account• Parents of students registered as of 8/26/15 received an Activation Key Letter mailed from

the District on 9/11/15.

• Parents of students registered after 8/26/15 will receive an Activation Key Letter from their child’s school.

• Activation Key Letter contains the information required to activate account.

• Note: once your account is activated, you will not need to use the Activation Key. You will sign in with the user name and password created during activation.

You must enter this information EXACTLY as written during account

activation

Activate ParentVUE Account• ParentVUE District URL: https://portal.lcps.org

• Use activation information on the Activation Key Letter from the District.

ParentVUE Home Screen• Upon successful account activation you view the ParentVUE Home screen.

• Students for whom you have Educational Rights will be listed.

Select a child by clicking on a name link

View that student’s information using the navigation menu

Update your contact information by clicking on the My Account tab

Messages• View district and school based messages. The number of unread

messages displays in a red circle.• Messages emailed from your child’s teachers appear in this view

as well.

Calendar• View daily class information such as homework, quizzes and

projects.

Attendance• View daily and class (period) attendance.• List and Calendar views are available.

Class Schedule• View your child’s class schedule and teachers.

Click on a teacher’s name to send an email

Class Websites• View class announcements, homework details, and links to

classroom resources.

Click on the links to view content for each Topic

Conference• View information about teacher conferences.• Schedule conferences with teachers who use this option.

Click on the Description link to view conference detail.

Click on Parent Conference to schedule a conference with

your child’s teacher.

Course History• View final grades for completed courses. • Graduation Status provides progress towards graduation

requirements for secondary students.

Grade Book - Secondary• View MP grades and assignments details. • Click on a course link to view grading summary.

Special Ed• If your student has an IEP you will be able to view the IEP and

Progress Report.
