Description of Roof Solar System
Photovoltaic Panels
Photovoltaics are best known as a method for generating electric power by using solar cells to convert energy from the sun into aflow of electrons. Our house has 42 panels placed on the roof, divided into a fixed part and a dynamic part.The fixed part consists of 14 PV panels and 14 PVT panels(Solar PVT system), inclining to the level of the court at an angle of 30degrees, which could just avoid shading between front and back row panels and simultaneously, maximize the photovoltaic efficiencyin summer.
Solar PVT (Photovoltaic with therma l)
Solar PVT, a duel use system for cooling the Photovoltaic panels making them run more efficiently. This water is then pumped intothe house and is a low grade temperature heat resource used both for heating water and air conditioning.
Sun Tracking Photovoltaic Panels
The dynamic part consists of 14 photovoltaic panels and 2 sets of planar linkages. SDE Tongji Team generated an algorithm andmechanical base that will keep the PV panels orientated towards the optimum solar angle throughout the day.

Description of Atruim
The atrium, situated in the center of Para-eco House, is the heart of natural ventilation system. It providemotive power for the exchange of indoor and outdoor air.
In autumn or spring, the indoor air is discharged through the opening at the upper of the atrium andreplaced by fresh air through door or window. If stack effect driving is not large enough, axial flow fanwill turn on to enhance the ventilation rates.
In winter, the atrium is acted as a passive solar house. Air in the atrium can be heated by Aluminum plateshanging below the skylight, so the temperature remains higher than outdoor air, which can reduce HVACheating load.
In summer, air in the atrium is discharged through the opening at the upper of atrium and replaced by airthrough the opening at the bottom of the atrium. Since the temperature of the air shaded by the foundationand floor is much lower than the environment, the atrium will not get too hot.

When outside temperature is a litter higher than what we expected, such as it is about 25-30℃, we can open the western and southern windows and door only to draw in precooling air. Because in west of our house is wetland. Air will be filtrated and cooled when it comes in the house through the wetland. Spray cooling zone is located in south of our house. After pray cooling, air will descent as great as 10℃ when climate condi-tion is appropriate.
