PA I S t e x t i l

País textil is the trademark of Cumpi Camayoc (master weaver in Quechua) a company dedicated to the devel-opment of handicrafts in Peru. We design and implement social development projects in crafts and manufacturing, in rural and urban areas, as a part of Corporate Social Re-

sponsibility Policies funded by solidary companies.

Our main goal is to support the production and business development of the groups of artisans we work with and

get fair prices for their work, but also to recover and foster ancient techniques of textile weaving and enhance the value

of traditional Peruvian handicrafts. We promote the use of first class materials and put a lot of work in creating con-temporary designs, inspired by the textile living culture of

Peru.

About Us

The Artisans

Tejedores de Cajamarquilla: a group of men and women liv-ing in the outskirts of Lima, in the vicinity of the Archaeological complex of Cajamarquilla. Our project focuses in the rescue

and preservation of pre-Columbian textile techniques and gen-erating a profitable business in fine craftsmanship

Llampu Maki, is our latest project formed by a group of men and women living in the vicinity of the archaeological com-

plex of Caral. We work to recover pre-Hispanic techniques in hand-woven textiles and also hand knit products with ecologi-

cally grown cotton in natural colors.

We also work with women artisans, weaving on backstrap looms in the region of Cajamarca, with whom we have imple-

mented development projects in crafts.

This collection of pillows is a display of technical styles in backstrap weaving.

Symmetrical striped fabrics, dashed lines, small and large squares and colorful tassels.

Inspired by Chumpis (traditional belts) with ande-an motifs of mountains and nature, warakas (tra-ditional slingshot cords) which have been incor-porated into the pillows and traditional tassels of

the Andean world.The main theme is white and black (yana in que-

chua), with color accents in red, orange, and bright pink

huaca collection

This collection is inspired in the hues and subtle textures of Huacas (pre-Columbian sacred sites inhabited by gods

or spirits) of the desert coast of Peru, entirely made of mud bricks.

Warm tones such as beige and off white, with accents in deep red, which originally the ancient Peruvians painted the

walls. Textured fabrics inspired by the architecture of the sim-ple yet rich lines of these sites blended with the mystery and

magic of the desert.
