EXPERIENCE

Training and Development

• Instructed, trained and evaluated over 200 US, and Foreign AH-64D Student Pilots on helicopter operations and procedures resulting in technical and tactical competency.

• Instructed AH-64D helicopter pilots in the following subject areas: aircraft systems, operations, preflight procedures, emergency procedures, terrain flight, instrument tasks, weapons system employment, Night Vision Goggles (NVG), Forward Looking Infrared Systems (FLIR), Low Light Night Vision Camera Flight systems and Longbow Crew Trainer. Operates the multi-engine, tandem seated AH-64D Longbow attack helicopter while instructing or evaluating the copilot/gunners station, while integrating the Target Acquisition Designation System, Fire Control Radar, Radio Frequency Interferometer, weapon switchology, weaponry, laser operations, fire delivery, aerial gunnery techniques, tactical digital communications and navigation, and manned and un-manned teaming.

• Performed AH-64D Instructor Pilot duties, Safety Operations, and Tactical Operations during Combat.

• Trained, Evaluated, and Supervised 5 new AH-64D Instructor Pilots as first time instructors.

• Analyzed and revised previous and current curriculum in Combat unit training and Flight School XXI at Fort Rucker, AL. in order to improve and update training.

• Warrior Modernization Training Developer working on future modifications and training of new units in the AH-64E, and software upgrades for the AH-64D including 13.1 and 13.2.

Management

• Managed Airfield Safety Operations and one of the major airfields in Afghanistan utilizing multiple airframes including both military and civilian airframes. Both fixed wing and rotary wing airframes.

• Managed the completion and opening of a new joint civilian and military refueling facility valued at over $100 Million.

• Managed, acquisition and disposal of ammunition, weapons systems and aircraft equipment valued over $70 Million.

• Conducted flight planning and execution for missions involving up to 18 aircraft of multiple Airframes in combat or in combat training environments, as an Air Mission Commander while Pilot-In-Command and Instructor Pilot.

• Supervised and provided on-going safety development for up to 600 military personnel and more than 150 civilian personnel.

• Prepared reports for upper level management and maintained flight records utilizing both manual and automated tracking systems.

Safety Management

• Provides information relevant to the design and construction of combat vehicles, United States (US) Army Soldiers personal protective equipment installation of equipment, inspections, and recommends improvements. Procures data, current and proposed requirements, policy enforcing regulations, and recommends new procedures. Studies and interprets regulations and standards, conducts inspections, identifies problems, develops solutions, and accompanies and works with researchers. Provides safety information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, trends, publishing reports, and submitting reports. Provides staff with preventive information, training as required, and consultations. Interfaces with regulatory agencies and represents JTAPIC (Joint Trauma and Prevention of Injuries in Combat) when necessary. Inspects equipment to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to insure measures have been implemented. Leads accident and injury investigations. Assures the development of an approach to occupational safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics issues consistent with US Army regulatory requirements policies and procedures. Possesses technical knowledge in chemical hazards/properties, air monitoring techniques, chemical hazard control techniques, permissible exposure levels, noise monitoring and control, and ventilation.

• Aviation Flight Training Institute Safety manager for the MD 530 program. Manage a wide variety of high-risk operations, facilities, and environmental conditions associated with Aviation Training, Maintenance and Operational activities. Promotes the overall safety program in support of Rotary Wing Operations. Provides oversight and conducts required inspections of Maintenance, Flight Operations, Training Operations, and Support Operations to insure a safe operating environment. Developed

Safety/Occupational Health and Environmental Compliance Programs. Conducted HAZMAT inventory & created MSDS books. Performed weekly airfield inspections/surveys. Coordinated Emergency Response/Pre-Accident Plan rehearsals. Facilitated hands-on fire response training for Saudi Army National Guard (SANG) personnel. Provided updates to Local Operating Procedures (LOP). Conducted Safety Briefing for Aircraft Qualification Course. Coordinated Safety & Standards Council. Facilitated incident investigations and reports.

• Performed Brigade Level Duties as Task Force Safety Officer responsible for more than 600 personnel and over including motor pool, Pathfinders, Maintenance areas, Flight activities, Aviators, Crew Chiefs, and Civilian Airfield and Contractor operations with more than 50 military and civilian aircraft at Forward Operating Base Shank in Eastern Afghanistan.

• Flew AH-64D aircraft during, Day, Night, Night Vision System, Night Vision Goggle, Visual Meteorological Conditions and Instrument Meteorological Conditions in combat and in training.

• Flown in excess of 3000 training hours’ accident and incident free. • Flown in excess of 1239 accident and incident free combat hours. • Conducted Gunnery Range Safety operations for 16 UH-60L, 12 AH-64D, 10 OH-58D

and 12 CH-47 aircraft, resulting in more than 2 hours per day of actual range time and live fire gunnery.

Air Traffic Services

• Airport Manager at two major airports; Troy Municipal Airport and Desiderio Army Airfield in South Korea, being the largest Army airport in the world.

• Managed, assisted and established administration and application of Facility training programs as a training supervisor resulting in Commendable inspections.

• Operated numerous types of radios and Ground Controlled Radar both as a controller and as a facility training supervisor.
