PARAGRAPHS:
A Paragraph is a group of connected sentences that is generally made up of one main idea and a group of supporting sentences. Paragraphs are the basic unit for building longer pieces of writing, e.g. essays, reports, assignments etc.

THE INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH
. The introductory paragraph does not go into detail, it just gives a general idea of the material and lets the reader know what areas it will cover.

THE DEVELOPMENT PARAGRAPH
• The development paragraph usually begins with a topic sentence. The topic sentence states what the paragraph is about.

THE TRANSITION PARAGRAPH
The transition paragraph is usually short and not all articles need transition paragraphs. It is used to emphasize change. It’s a dividing line when you need to move from one aspect of the subject to another.

THE CONCLUDING PARAGRAPH
The concluding paragraph is where you wrap it all up and reiterate the high points, but you do not want to create an abrupt stop here.

1. Introduction: Paragraph 1: Grabber + Main Idea of entire paper No details, just a general idea of what the paper will be about
2. Development: Paragraphs 2: (a similarity between lions and tigers) Paragraphs 3: (a difference between lions and tigers)
Paragraphs 4: (another difference between lions and tigers) Each paragraph must have: Topic Sentence + Supporting Details
3. Transitions: A small paragraph to connect 2 DEVELOPMENT PARAGRAPHS Emphasize the change being made from one paragraph to the other. (Write it between paragraphs 2 and 3.)
4. Conclusion: Paragraph 5: Wrap up of information + Concluding thoughts
Create a sense of completion and maybe give personal thoughts.
