Portfolio

An Introduction to the

Anyone that enters the Portfolio must first be authenticated in the NYU system.

Authentication automatically determines if the person is faculty or a student.

When a Faculty Partner logs in, they can view their list of Student Portfolios in one of two ways – with or without Comment Cards.

You will learn about Comment Cards later in this presentation.

The number of students that can be assigned to a Faculty Partner is unlimited.

Regardless of which view a Faculty Partner chooses, they can access a student’s portfolio by clicking on that student’s name.

End-of-Year Assessment

In this example the student was required to upload a document (Step 1), write a brief reflection (Step 2) and select which professional values they displayed (Step 3).

The Faculty Partner can review the student’s work at any time by clicking on the document icon.

For this assignment, the student is only required to type a brief reflection on the Patient Interaction they experienced (Step 1) and note which values were displayed (Step 2).

For this assignment, the student locates their evaluator in the school’s system (Step 1) and enters the evaluation they received into the online checklist form (Step 2).

Students are always able to update assignments – even ones that have already been completed.

Student’s View of their Portfolio

Students can meet with their Faculty Partner to discuss any comment cards they may receive. An email notification is sent to the student if someone files a card on their behalf.

Students can always access any Comment Cards they have received – from either the current or past years – using the View Card History tab.

Once here, clicking on each individual icon will open the card in a new window.

The Faculty Partner is responsible for reviewing all cards their Student Partners receive.

They can also use the comments section to include their own or the student’s response to the card.

Faculty, School or Hospital staff and students can all use the Portfolio to file cards for students in the program.

The Portfolio includes a list of Frequently Asked Questions users can refer to if they have questions about the Professionalism program.

Additional Features - FAQs

There is also a Help tab available to Faculty Partners for help with navigating the Portfolio and other technological issues.

The online Help section opens into a new window so the Faculty Partner can browse both the Help section and the Portfolio at the same time.
