Purpose of the GSSD Report Card
The report card’s purpose is to effectively communicate authentic and accurate feedback to stakeholders about student achievement and learning characteristics.
• Stakeholders include: students, parents, guardians, educators, board, school division, post-secondary institutions and employers.
What’s Your Best Guess?

Why the Shift in Assessment?
The recently renewed Saskatchewan Curriculum reflects a change in the primary focus of assessment in schools.• Historically, assessment practices were designed to rank and sort
students.• Now assessment supports the learning of all students. We are
committed to ensuring that each student achieves his/her personal best.
Historically, student assessment focused largely on the acquisition of content knowledge. • Now assessment focuses not only on what students need to know but
also on what they can do with what they know.• GSSD 5 Year PD Continuum
Value of Outcome-Based Reporting
Outcomes are separated and reported individually for Math and Language Arts. Specific information can be reported and shared with parents and students regarding academic achievement.
