YOUTH MINISTRY

2011 Highlights

• Combined Younger Youth & Generator Weekend away in March; emergence of young leaders as a result

• Taking 12 members of our 6th form to help on a beach mission in Perranporth, Cornwall

• ‘Youth for Youth’ event run at St Stephen’s as part of the 2012 London Calling initiative with over 100 youth from 23 different churches

• Build and invest in young leaders, including potential mission trips at home and abroad

• Build on existing strong links within our community, increasing ties with local schools and youth

• Importance put on our discipling of teenagers and our youth’s depth in relationship with God and each other through pastoring and mentoring

The Challenges• Retaining contact with youth in our community from non-christian backgrounds past the age of 13

• Retaining and obtaining the right team and staff to enable our ministry to expand into new places and to deepen relationships with the youth we currently have contact with

• Providing a safe and constant environment which is ‘home’ to our youth where we can build relationship on a weekly basis and give them a viable option to socialise in a safe setting

• How to best support parents and their relationships with their teenagers
