Couldaspecies,asdistinctfromitsindividualmembers,beamoralagent?Answeringthesequestionsrequiresapreliminaryreflectiononthenature,ontheonehand,oftheverynotionofcollectiveresponsibility(andtherelatednotionsofpersonalandsharedresponsibility);and,ontheotherhand,ontheontologicalstatusofour(andother)species,aswellascollectivesubjectssuchasgroupsandcommunities.
