Dear Parents and carers, As we draw September to a close, I want to personally thank you all for your patience, acceptance, and willingness to follow the new safety measures that we have put in place. The first few days were a steep learning curve, but we do hope that the small changes we have made ensure that our school community can continue to operate effectively at this difficult time. We are all aware from the news that we are still in very challenging times and strict adherence to social distancing is an absolute necessity to halt the spread of the virus. If you have not been wearing a mask, I do urge you to reconsider for the benefit of everyone including your children. As staff we have had to adopt this in school and ask that you replicate this at drop off and pick up times.
We also ask that you do not enter the school driveway in a vehicle. The children are using this as a pedestrian routeway, and it is a massive risk to our children's safety. Parents must park safely in the
surrounding streets and walk the short distance to school.
If you hold a current disabled badge you must present the original to the office so we can make alternative arrangements for you. This applies to breakfast club and after school club drop of and collection.
You will have received the videos from your class teachers explaining everything you need to know about your child's year group...we hope you found these useful!
Next week you will receive another video explaining how to access the homework on Teams for KS2 and See saw for KS1. Homework will be set on Thursday and will need to be submitted by the following Wednesday.
Parents will also be contacted by the class teacher to have a brief conversation about how your child has
settled in, this will be done via a phone call.
Have a wonderful weekend, maybe the last of the sun!

School News
My name is Jude and I have just been elected as head boy for the school. I am in Year 6 and I would
like to say that we have an amazing school.
However, with my newly appointed role I would like to further improve the school by allowing everyone’s voice to be heard. In my role I will
ensure all the younger children feel safe at school especially during
these difficult times.
My name is Sheneecia. I have just been appointed the special role of head girl. I believe Corpus Christi is a wonderful school where you should
start not only your educational journey but your spiritual one too.
The characteristics I think I can bring to Corpus Christi are my level of
confidence and my focus on school goals and values. By doing this we can
assure the safety and values of the students at Corpus Christi. My true aim is to give back to the school after they
have helped me for so many years, creating moments that matter.
Meet our new head boy and girl

Some of our children in Year 5 were using drama to help them conjure up descriptions of 'The Weird Sisters' from
Macbeth
The children in Reception have all settled very well! Well done Reception. They also enjoyed their first prayer time
this week
Year 6 posting their pen pal letters to be delivered to their new pen pals at St John Fisher.
On Monday there was a near miss outside school where a car mounted the pavement and nearly hit a
child. Please park sensibly. We know that it is a big temptation to park close to the school, but the safety of
the children is paramount
Thank you to all the parents who have unquestioningly supported us with wearing masks to pick up and drop off their children at school this week. Please continue to queue and wait for your child to enable us to safely
hand over each child to their parent. Please do not call your child to come out beforehand.
Year 6 enjoying their PE lesson on
our fabulous 3G pitch!
PE TIMETABLE
Please see the timetable for
your child’s PE days.
Your child MUST wear their PE
uniform to school on their
stated PE day.
Year 4 enjoyed creating Yoga poses using strength, core muscles and balance
PE Uniform
White round neck t-shirt. Black shorts.
Pumps. (Plain black joggers and plain black
sweatshirt – no logos, for outdoor lessons
during winter)
Football Boots
Year 5/6 children it is essential that they
bring in moulded football boots into school
on their PE days in a carrier bag. It is
desirable that Year 3/4 children bring in
moulded football boots but please don't
worry if they do not have any.
Reception Tuesday
Year 6 children have taken home an important leaflet about choosing a secondary school for September 2021. Applications need to be in by Wednesday 31st October 2020. You can apply online at www.coventry.gov.uk/admissions.
Please be aware that there is a high number of applications moving through to Secondary school in the city at the current time. This means there will be more demand for places and we strongly advise you complete three choices on your applications and you complete by the deadline above. Cardinal Wiseman will be holding a series of events online, potentially on site at a later date in October as our partnered Secondary school within the MAC.
Please be advised that for pupils who are in Year 7 for the 2021-22 academic year, free bus passes will be available for eligible pupils. Eligible pupils are children who meet all three criteria:
1) On the application form Cardinal Wiseman was their first choice as a secondary school.
2) The pupil has a home address which is 2 miles or more from the school.
3) and pupil has attended one of the partnered Catholic primary schools within Romero.
Cardinal Wiseman will be holding an online welcome meeting on Wednesday 16th September 2020 from 6pm via a link posted on www.cardinalwiseman.coventry.sch.uk
