FACULTY NEWS – INDUSTRIAL ARTS
It has been a busy week in the Industrial Arts Faculty. Shearing of our Merino ewes took place at the school farm for the first in a
number of years. It was a great opportunity for students to be involved in shearing and handling wool.
The new stud cattle have arrived. These cattle will be involved in the development of the Cattle team. Students are going on a range of
excursions including the Cows Create Careers presentation day and the field days. These excursions are a fantastic opportunity for
students to get involved in Agriculture in the community.
The Timber classes are heavily involved in their project with students constructing desk organisers and side tables. Students are heavily
involved in the construction of these projects which should be finished this term.

PRINCIPAL’S NEWS
It was good to see lots of happy smiles during the second phase of our Year 7, 2015 Transition Program. This week staff and Year 9
student mentors welcomed over 100 students from Bletchington and Orange Primary Schools along with other small schools
across the region. This follows the first Transition last week for students from Calare, Nashdale, Canobolas and Catholic Schools.
Many thanks to Charles Sturt University for their donation of a ‘Ring Launcher’ to supplement our Physics equipment. Our
passionate Physics teacher can’t wait until the order comes through as it will enable some special high level demonstrations facilitating a
deeper first-hand understanding of physics for students. The donation follows successful submission of a grant application to CSU.
