Optometrists are primary eye care professionals  trained to examine the eyes to detect defects in vision, signs of injury, ocular diseases or abnormality and problems with general health.

PRIMARY EYE CARE PROFESSION

Optometrist can independently:

• Estimate the refractive errors of the eye .• Provide corrective measures (spectacles,

contact lens, low vision aids, vision therapies).

• Detect pathological conditions in the visual system which are abnormal, diagnose ocular and systemic related neurological disease and refer for detailed medications and surgeries.

• Undertake public health optometry projects and vision screening eye camps in society, schools, colleges, rural, urban, offices and can also practice in industries

• Public education on ocular hygiene, nutritional and environmental counseling

• Can successfully run an ophthalmic clinic, eye hospitals, optical shops,, optical lens, devices, instruments manufacturing companies in India and abroad.

•3+ 1 year•3years theoretical class+1 year Internship

For admission to 1st year the candidate must be completed with +2 biology science (60%)
