RapidoShrink™ Oven
from Corning
A fast heat-shrink oven for all common heat-shrink splice protectors on single fiber or ribbon splices. Manual control offers 16 heating power stages and times from 15-75 seconds, with shrink times of less than 15 seconds for 40mm heat-shrink protectors, 20 seconds for 60mm single fiber and 40 seconds for 12-fiber ribbon.
Heat up time is less than 10 seconds. The unit consumes 50% less energy compared to standard heat-shrink ovens, which greatly extends the oper-ating time of the fusion splicers in battery mode. It is fully compliant with the RoHS requirements of the European Union (according to 2002/95/EC).
The RapidoShrink is available as an autonomous device for operation independently from a fusion splicer. The oven is mounted on a stand and can be programmed with the aid of two rotary switches. Ships with a power supply.
One-Step Cleavers from Corning
Single Fiber Cleaver FBC-006The unit’s unique blade design and few mechanical parts offer excellent cleave consistency and ease of maintenance. The FBC-006 cleaves all common fiber with cladding diameter from 80-125µm and coating from 250µm-900µm. The average cleave angle deviation with standard single mode fiber is less than .35°.
Ribbon Fiber Cleaver FBC-012Similar to the FBC-006, this ribbon fiber cleaver is designed to be fast and simple to use, offering one-step cleave action and easy access to important parts. The unit will cleave up to a 212-fiber ribbon with an average cleave deviation of less than 1° with standard single mode fiber. The 12 positions of the long-life hard metal rotating wheel are good for a minimum of 1,000 cleaves each. A large, attachable fiber waste is included.

CSP Crimping Protectors
from Corning
Used to protect 250µm single-fiber splices of up to 22mm in length, the V-shaped design enables application after splicing, eliminating threading before fiber preparation. The corrosion-resistant .03mm thick aluminum carrier features a precise open angle with tight tolerances, guaranteeing compatibility with common crimp devices. Splices are embedded in a per-manently elastic butyl mass to protect against environmental influences.
The protector can be closed manually quickly and easily with a crimp device. When the 1.3mm crimp width (dictated by the crimp device) is observed, no additional losses or other optical influences will impact the splice. No additional electrical power is drawn from the batteries of the fusion splicer. Each pack contains 10 strips with 15 pieces each.
Installation time is less than 5 seconds.Compact sizeMillion-fold proven technologyNo additional attenuationFully compliant with the RoHS requirements of the European Union (according to 2002/95/EC)

Fiber Cleavers from Sumitomo Electric Lightwave
FC-6Built on a robust, high-quality platform, the FC-6 can be used as either a mass or single fiber cleaver. It utilizes an automatic anvil drop for fewer required steps and better cleave consistency.
The cleaver includes a single fiber adapter for 250-900µm coated single fibers. It is a simple operation for the user to remove or install the single fiber adapter and alternate between mass and single fiber cleaving. An optional fiber scrap collector can be installed to help maintain loose scraps resulting from cleaving. The scrap collector works to automatically grab and store the scrap fibers as the cleaver’s lid is raised following a completed cleave.
FC-7The industry's first hand-held cleaver, the FC-7 can perform cleaves on single fibers up to 4-count ribbons. It has a simple cleaving operation that can be performed in the palm of the hand, which allows the user to take the cleaver to fiber in limited slack applications. A built-in fiber scrap col-lector handles scrap fibers resulting from the cleaving process. Following a completed cleave, the lid is raised, allowing the collector to automatically grab and safely store the fibers.
