LACCE Day at the Capitol Annual event with chambers across the state of Louisiana. Exclusive access to lawmakers, administrative staff and others in the policy process. Typically limited to 3 invitees.
Legislative Briefing & Wrap Up The Governmental Affairs Committee meets with state delega-tion to discuss the upcoming session and policy points. We also share concerns in this open ended conversation with state lawmakers. Following the session, outcomes are discussed and the impact of session on business and the parish.
Washington DC Fly In Held annually to represent Livingston Parish small business community and businesses in Livingston Parish represented. Following the flood, the Fly In in more critical than ever.
Parish Officials The Chamber stays connected and engaged with the Parish President’s office through many mutual actions. The Chamber hosts the “State of the Parish” address with the Parish Presi-dent as the keynote speaker.
Parish Council Representatives—the Chamber maintains a working relationship with all members of the council either through direct office relations, the chamber’s board of direc-tors or the governmental affairs committee.
Local Municipalities and Governments The Chamber is in touch with each municipality in the parish. A Mayors’ Event is held annually to share with the business community the updates from each area of the parish.
Leadership Livingston & role in public policy
The Leadership Livingston Program visits and hears from al-most every mayor and official of every government entity, municipality in the parish promoting a stronger understand of the role, responsibilities and authority in the parish.
Other Actions and Engagement The Chamber’s Board of Directors votes to support or not, issues and ballot items, Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Com-mittee comprised of business leaders makes recommenda-tions to the board of directors, special invites at the local, state and federal level, weighing in and remediating individual busi-ness issues for business members and a further extensive list including testifying, public comments and engagement on public policy issues.
The Chamber is engaged in governmental affairs and business advocacy pieces in a major way. We remain steadfast and committed to getting the
issues which face business, particularly following the 2016 flood. Sponsorship that is dedicated to this programming is critical to keep the pace of
growth in place. Actions include: Annual Public Policy Agendas, Recent Disaster Response, Forums for Candidates, Meet & Greets for Candidates,
