DESCRIPTION

Two hospice patients get the wish of a lifetime when they get to watch the Ohio State Buckeyes practice and meet the coach, Urban Meyer.

TRANSCRIPT

Dick and Robert, both 90 and graduates of The Ohio State

University Class of 1949, had a wish: to meet the current coach of the Buckeye’s, Urban Meyer.

The goal of the Senior Independence team: to Make it Happen!

It was a beautiful day to make memories!

Dick wanted nothing more than to share this special day with his grandsons.

"I've had season tickets since 1949."

"I've had season tickets since 1953."

The gentlemen received an all-access tour of the training facility.

Dick and Robert got to hold one of the Championship rings.

Dick and Robert enjoyed sharing stories from “the good old days” under Coach Woody Hayes.

They were given honorary Buckeye stickers just like the players wear on their helmets.

Robert couldn’t believe how big the players shoes were!

They even got to “high-five” Archie’s Heisman trophy!

Both Robert and Dick shared their personal experience sitting through the infamous

“Snow Bowl.”

The men got to watch the team practice. Not many people are allowed to do that!

Coach Meyer spent time talking with Robert and Dick, asking to hear their stories.

“We sure are proud of you!” Dick told Coach Meyer.

The coach wrote encouraging words on a football to help remind them of this special day.

"This was the best day of my entire life. I got to meet Urban Meyer."

"It's been a long journey really, but a good one. I've enjoyed every bit of it."
