Greetings and

THANK YOU

from the OATN!Dr. Paula Compton, Associate Vice Chancellor/Executive Director

Course Review

Cycle UpdatesMark A. Cortez, Director for Articulation and Transfer Policy

What’s New: CCP and OGTP

Increasing the need for this work

Effective – Summer Term 2018, first 15 hours must be from an

“allowable course”

Allowable courses include (1) "Transferable course" means

any course that is an approved Ohio transfer module (OTM),

transfer assurance guide (TAG), or career-technical

assurance guide (CTAG) course, or a course at a private

institution of higher education that is equivalent to such a

course based on the private institution's representation of

the course.

*While there are more details about allowable courses still

yet to come, for the work that we have an impact on we’re

focused on OTM, TAG, and CTAG courses.

FY19 Review Cycle: Planned Change

Two Cycles of Formal Review

Encouragement to push to panel as soon as lead receives; one week

later ODHE can push for you.

Rolling Cycle that Encompasses Two Official Cycles:

Allows you to gauge work coming for Spring and establish a plan

as a panel to address volume if you see increased workloads.

Avoids peak exam/final schedules that provided some conflicts in

FY18 (earlier review in FY19).

Reduces administrative challenges.

Rolling Cycle

FY19 Review Cycle: Rolling Cycle

Rolling Cycle: Panels will receive submissions as they are submitted to

ODHE between October 8th and March 1st.

These will be limited and based on areas of high priority, i.e. those with

deadlines or requirements for the Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways,

expirations, etc). These will be reviewed and returned as the panel

finishes the review, on a rolling basis.

EARLY submission during the rolling cycle is encouraged.

New submissions, resubmissions (corrections to be pending and

disapproved submissions) will be accepted through March 1.

Anything received after March 5th in the final review cycle may not be able

to be reviewed and dispositioned by April 8th. If you have extenuating

circumstances for a last submission beyond March 5th please contact

ODHE.

FY19 Review Cycle: Professional Development

Plan: Before each review cycle, OATN will host webinars to help institutions

with their questions around submissions.

Outcomes: Improved submissions that lead to increased approvals and

improved timelines.
