MAN diesel engines for agricultural and construction machinery
Performance spectrum and applicationsMAN off-road engines with a displacement of 4.6 to 24.2 liters come with ratings ranging from 110 kW to 882 kW (150 hp to 1 200 hp). Applications include:
nn Agricultural machinery
nn Construction machinery
nn Mobile cranes and materials transport
nn Cutters and shredders
nn Environmental and recycling technology
nn Special machinery such as snowcats
MAN key technologiesOur key to your success: When de signing and developing an MAN off-road engine, we rely on innovative technologies such as turbo-charging using variable turbine geometry and common-rail fuel injection systems of up to 2 500 bar. The result is not just visible, but also palpable: the engine runs more smoothly, its perfor-mance characteristics are considerably more dynamic, fuel consumption is lower and there are fewer soot particles and lower pollutant emissions .
Development to meet operational requirementsOur concepts are off-road in the truest sense of the word, that is to say they are extraordinary . We develop and build our engines specifically for use in agri cultural and construction machine technology: from an oil pan for maxi-mum inclines to the focus on 12 V power supplies as commonly used in agri-cultural technology and particularly rugged components . We make use of our experience in integrating MAN engines into unusual installation spaces and vehicle concepts and have been doing so for decades .
Easy system integrationOne name – one system . MAN makes use of a single defined engine inter-face to exchange data and commands between the engine and vehicle con-trols . These fully integrated controls are available for a wide spectrum of mecha-nical and hydrostatic drive trains and electronic interfaces .
Time and cost pressure are increasing, both in agriculture and in the construction industry. This is why reliability and economic efficiency are more important in these businesses than ever before. MAN engines are the constant factor that makes the machines reliable, both in brisk day-to-day business and in their life-cycle costs. Our MAN engines can help you move things in a big way – either as a vehicle operator or as a designer.

Intelligent service solutionsOur knowledge is highly prized . The knowledge acquired at the International Engine Competence Center in Nuremberg is passed on in optional self-service concepts for machine-ry manufacturers . Alternatively, a full individual diagnostic concept is developed for original equipment manufacturers . This forms the foundation of your engine service success . To ensure that your customer service is praised worldwide, we operate partner training centers for you in each region .
The shared component conceptMAN puts together what belongs together: quality and efficiency . The use of shared service components and assemblies such as the belt drive, alternator, air-conditioning compressor and fuel filter ensures the high availability of parts, low handling costs and the simplification of maintenance work .
Modular exhaust gas treatment kit (AGN kit)Flexibility creates freedom of movement: this is also true for exhaust gas treatment: The individual components of the modular AGN kit from MAN Engines can be positioned in many different ways allowing for a large range of installation variants . This provides the greatest possible freedom in the design of machines . Alternatively, predefined integrated sys-tems provide practical solutions .
ReliabilityMAN delivers what it promises: reliability. MAN engines provide the power that drives your economic success . The choice of durable components and the focus on off-road use form one factor . The experience gained during series produc-tion forms the other . Ultimately, the well-known manufacturers who use them and the huge number of machines already in use both in agriculture and on the construction site are proof of the trust placed in MAN engines . You can rely on that!
