Today, many organizations are utilising hybrid or renewable energy to reduce operating costs and expand market coverage. In remote areas, generators are typically used to provide extra charge to the batteries when sun and wind are not available, particularly during the early hours of the morning. However, if the site has a 24-hour generator site with no mains power, the costs of running the site can be high considering fuel and transportation costs (typically around 500 hours between services).
Using a hybrid solution can significantly reduce generator run times. For example, on a typical mobile site with a 3kW load with good solar (12kW) and wind energy (2Kw), generator runtimes can be reduced to about 4 - 6 hours a day. This allows organizations to reduce fuel, transportation costs and have longer service intervals. With these two factors, it means longer life for the generator before replacement.

The Off Grid Hybrid Power System provides backup power requirements to the remote site equipment. It monitors the state of the batteries and automatically controls the generator operation.
Designed to meet harsh environments, the Off Grid Hybrid Power System serves as the nerve centre of the system. Essential design requirements met by the Hybrid Power System are:

Netsure 531 A91 DC Power System
The NetSure531 series embedded high-efficiency switch mode power system has been installed in the HPS equipment enclosure. The A91 system can accommodate (9) R48200e3 rectifiers or (9) S48200e3 MPPT converters and is also equipped with an advance network controller (NCU) and associated CB’s. Two Netsure 531 A91 chassis are installed in the HPS enclosure. One chassis houses the rectifiers and the other for the solar and wind converters.
