Bless us all, O Lord, we pray, for loved ones, here and near, and
far away. And everyone for whom we pray. Keep us safe each
night and day, the homeless who have no place to stay. Those
who are suffering in any way. The dying, those mourning or
grieving and all who need God's mercy. Keep us safe, Heavenly
Father, when we are at home, or travelling on our way, or when
we are vulnerable, or in danger in any way. Most merciful
Father, hear us as we pray for the souls in Purgatory, or who
may be sent there some day.
The Pastors Corner One’s understanding of human person gives impetus to a person
to accomplish something worth in life or to lead a life amidst trials
and tribulations. Jewish tradition and culture led Paul to be a
person of passion and mission. He respected customs of Jewish
religion more than the love of human persons. However, his
personal encounter with Christ made him overcome follies of the
world and to be completely entranced by mission of Jesus. On
hearing the message of the gospel from Paul, the Thessalonians
came to the word of God. On their reception of word of God, they
experienced an exuberant joy that in turn called people of
Macedonia and Achaia to embrace the way of Christian faith. As
followers of Christ, we must bear witness to the gospel of love in
life. The logic and laws of the world should not limit us to carry
out his mission of love to the believers.
Jesus, in today’s gospel brings out the core goodness and kernel
of human persons’ ultimate quest. Humans need to go beyond
outdated mores. Love is the command that we must follow. If we
look with love, everything becomes God’s blessing. If we look
with conventional mind, we lose the sense of love and wisdom.
This wisdom and love of Christ led people like Mother Teresa to
go out into streets to look after destitute. Jesus, St. Paul,
Thessalonians, our parents and teachers are models of sacrificial
love which is beyond logic. How do we live?
vivimos?

Baptism Preparation (0-6yrs.)
Recently, we have received quite a few questions about infant
Baptism (0-6yrs). To help answer some of these, please note a
couple of things. First, the marital status of the parents of a child
does not affect the ability of the child to receive the sacrament.
Second, at least one parent must be Catholic, and both must intend
to raise their child in the Catholic faith (CIC can.868). Holy
Mother Church wants as many children as possible to be
Baptized—because a) Jesus requires it for salvation (Jn 3:5-7),
and b) leads to adoption into the family of God—the Church (Eph
1:5-7).
The graces of Baptism are real and make a real difference in the
life of a child, and we should not hinder any child from coming
closer to Jesus—especially with the simple process of having an
infant Baptized (Mk 10:13-16). Even better, parents do not have
to wait for the child to be born to prepare for Baptism! As soon as
you realize that you are pregnant, you can begin the preparation
process, so that the child receives the grace of Baptism as soon as
possible after they are born (CIC can.867). If you would like to
have your child from 0-6 years old baptized, please register online
at www.sttafw.org/baptism or contact Paul C. for more
information.

Next preparation for baptism class. Sunday, November 1 at 12pm.
