• You are a trainee producer at net.FM, a local independent radio station, but as part of your training, you will need to develop your ICT skills by completing a series of tasks

• The station makes money by selling advertising, Personal Appearances, Party Nights in Pubs, Bars and Clubs.

• The vast bulk of the income is from advertising.• Advertisers will want to advertise on shows that are popular, in other words, they

have a lot of listeners, they may want their adverts to run at a particular time of day because of the nature of their business.

• The most popular shows are:• The Breakfast Show (6am until 10am)• The Afternoon Show (2pm until 6pm)• The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, all shows occupy a 4 hour time slot.• net.FM also broadcasts on the internet via the station website. • As your career develops, your ICT skills will be invaluable to you, so it is important

to find out how the whole business operates and how you can contribute. • You will need to learn to work to deadlines, in the world of business, a deadline

means exactly that !• Each task will have a timescale with a given deadline, you may need to work late

some days to get them finished.
