Another sad tale from the past, when Britain's state education was arguably the best in the world! To those who believe that GCSEs have maintained these rigourous standards, all I can say is this: Try giving this paper to your average GCSE Physics student and see what they think of it! Better still, get an A'Level Physics student to give their opinion (yes! there parts of questions here which even good A'Level students will struggle with these days).Wake up Britain: rewarding mediocrity benefits and fools no-one! If we're to go anywhere as a nation, we'll need to give the young a much better standard of education and provide them with worthwhile qualifications recognised the world over!
