Expectations:Participation and Communication
Participate in class: Post discussions and
turn in assignments on time. In an online course,
you should log-in and post at least three times per
week (preferably on different days).
Participate in the process. Submit all documents (transcripts, financial
aid, and other forms) in a timely manner. Register for
classes and order books at least 3 weeks before the start of term.
Participation is all about effort. To get the most out of your courses and
educational investment, it is important that you throw yourself into your courses. Like
anything else worth completing: you only get out of a class what you put into it.
Expectations:Participation and Communication
Communicate with OU Help about technical issues that
affect your class participation.
Communicate with your advisor about changes in your life
that affect your education;
i.e. name and address changes, changes to academic or
career goals, or serious health, financial, or personal problems.
Communicate with the instructor first about issues that
affect your participation in class.
Communication is a two-way street. Check your OU e-mail account at least twice
per week. And, if you don’t understand a policy, procedure or requirement ask your
instructor or advisor for help.
