grades K-5 enjoy activities, swimming, arts, crafts, and games. Before

theme) for children ages 5 and up with caregiver. Have your child
bring gallon sized zip lock bag of Legos and create together. There is a

7:30pm at the Delta-Schoolcraft ISD. Free dinner & childcare with fun
activities. Parents will learn conflict resolution skills with Michele Chenier

and open to the public. Participants learn effective ways to build posi-
tive, loving relationships with children of all ages! Each session teaches
valuable skills that improve relationships and reduce stress. Childcare

years and older. No registration is required. Includes stories, crafts, and
occasionally a book-related movie or special guest. Toddler Time
meets Wednesdays at 10:30am. Library Babies meets Fridays 10:30am.

November Community Family Events
The Delta County Great Start Parent Coalition meets monthly from 6-7:30pm
at the Delta-Schoolcraft ISD (DSISD) 2525 3rd Ave South, Escanaba
Our next meetings: November 16th & Christmas Party December 13th
November 2, 9,16 & 30 2017 Toddler Art and Music at the Bonifas Thurs-
days, 10am-10:45am. Toddlers ages mobile to age 3 and their caregiv-
ers enjoy creative play activities and music fun! $32 for monthly session
or $5 per daily session. Walk-ins welcome. www.bonifasarts.org
11/4/17 Bonifas Holiday Arts Fair & Art Walk 10am-4pm at the Bonifas Art
Center 700 1st Ave S, Escanaba Art, bake sale items, bucket raffle
items along with our Fall raffle tickets for sale (enter for a chance to win
$2,000) and even a visit from Santa! New this year is the Young Artists
Market. Then enjoy a stroll down Ludington Street in Escanaba where
over a dozen businesses are hosting artists in their storefronts

at New Life Church in Escanaba, and meets on 11/10/17 10:30am-

11/7/17 Child Find Free developmental screenings at the DSISD for Chil-
dren 0-5 years old. Call 906-786-9300 ext 201 to schedule an appoint-
ment.
11/7 & 11/21 2017 Pre School Story Hour at Webster Elementary 10am-
11am on Tuesdays. A free story hour open to all young children. Enjoy a
story, snack and craft together. Plus, children will receive a new book
to keep! Must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Daycares
are welcome and are asked only to call 786-6118 with the number
attending.
11/9/17 Great Start Family Fun Night at Bay: All Aboard for Reading 6pm
-7pm FREE in the Bay College Library. NO REGISTRATION required. En-
joy this fun choo-choo train themed family fun night with Julie Mallard
from United Way of Delta County. She will be talking about United
Way's Little Library Initiative and signing up Delta Co. kids under 5 for
the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Families will enjoy story time, fun
activities and a snack. Bring a gently used book to exchange to keep

11/11/17 11th Annual Escanaba Baseball Annual Craft/Bake Sale 9am-
4pm with over 125 vendors at Escanaba High School. $2 admission, $1

Escanaba DDA 1025 Ludington St. Business sales from 3pm-9pm
and festivities including cocoa and carriage rides from 5-8pm.
11/23/17 37th Annual Escanaba Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Noon at Escanaba High School. Free dinners to families in need.

11/24/17 Gladstone Old Fashioned Christmas and tree lighting cer-
emony 5:30pm-8:30pm downtown Gladstone. Free family fun for all
ages!
Positive Parenting Series– Composure and Encouragement 5:30-
7:30pm. (locations vary) Join us for this free 4 part workshop series
based on the Conscious Discipline framework of Dr. Becky Bailey
being offered at locations around Delta County! This month learn
how composure and encouragement can stop power struggles
and help you navigate challenging behaviors. Dinner is included!

Holiday Assistance Did you know that the Salvation Army is currently taking applications from
families in need for Christmas baskets through 11/30/17? To apply bring a
picture ID to 3001 5th Ave S, Escanaba during regular business hours. 906-
786-0590.
St Vincent’s de Paul will also be providing baskets. Applications will be
accepted through 11/30/17. Call the Escanaba Senior Center at 906-786-
8850 for details. Families can only be eligible to receive a basket from one
organization. Not both.
