HOW DID WE IDENTIFY NEEDS IN READING BASED ON DATA?We used several sources:

a. AIMS-web in grades K-6b. Formative and Summative Assessments

K-12 c. ACCESS Testing (Language Proficiency)

K-12d. FAST and IGDI – Preschoole. MCA (Minnesota Comprehensive

Assessments) 3-10

WHAT ARE OUR PRIMARY CONCERNS IN READING?

3rd Grade – Lower than the state in all areas 6th and 7th Grades – Student groups with

overall proficiency below the state level are English Learner, Free/Reduced Price Lunch, Black, and Hispanic

10th Grade – Has largest gaps compared to the state in almost all subgroups (English Learner group is the exception)

WHAT ARE OUR DISTRICT GOALS IN READING?

District-wide Willmar Public Schools will improve reading proficiency by 5% in the ALL, Black, Free/Reduced Priced Lunch, English Learner and Special Education populations by June 2015.

HOW DID WE IDENTIFY NEEDS IN MATH BASED ON DATA?

We used several data sets:

a. AIMS-web in grades K-8

b. Formative and Summative Assessments in Grades K-12

c. FAST and IGDI Preschool

d. MCA – Grade 11

Slow rate of growth for English Learner and Special Education student groups at the elementary level

Slow rate of growth for the Black, English Learner, and Free/Reduced Priced lunch student groups at the Middle School

WHAT ARE OUR DISTRICT GOALS IN MATH?
