SUBJECT: Nursing Program Theory Survey, Spring 2015

A survey was sent by Nursing Program faculty to students of De Anza College enrolled in the Nursing

Program during Spring quarter 2015. A total of 176 students responded to the online survey.

Important highlights include:

94% of respondents “agree” or “strongly agree” that the out-of-class assignments (e.g., A.V.,

group activities, etc) were relevant to the course objectives; the assigned reading and A.V.s for this

course were appropriate; the course has helped me to improve in clinical performance; and the

topics covered in exams and assignments for this course were consistent with the course

objectives.

95% of respondents “agree” or “strongly agree” that the course objectives were clear; the

objectives of the course were obtainable; the complexity of the course was appropriate for this

level; the out-of-class suggested reading and A.V. assignments were accessible; the tests (quizzes,

etc) in this course related to the course objectives; and compared to other courses in my major, I

would rate this course as effective.

87% of respondents “agree” or “strongly agree” that the required textbook for this course was

helpful for meeting the objectives.

89% of respondents “agree” or “strongly agree” that the assigned papers for this course

contributed to the achievement of course objectives and the course was well structured (ie., the

progression seemed logical).

88% of respondents “agree” or “strongly agree” that the amount of work required for this course
