Foreword

For the second year in a row the good people at Sideprojects set up shop at NorthSide to talk to our audience and getfeedback, stories, art, and ideas, which have now beencollected for the book you’re currently holding.

In it you’ll find drawings, collages, poems, stories, and much more created by the people who attended and ultimately made NorthSide 2012 a huge success. But there are also stories shared by some of the people, who worked behind the stages and even some written by the musicians, whooccupied the stages during those three amazing days in June.

As always we love getting feedback and this project once again shows the tremendous dedication people attending or working at the festival have to making NorthSide a uniqueexperience for everybody.

We hope you’ll enjoy this collection of hopes, dreams, ideas, thoughts, and passions as much as we have.

There is always a question that follows when we talk about zines --

Q : what’s a zine? A : a zine (pronounced ”zeen”) is a self-published periodical on almost any topic put out by any number of alternative- types who have access to a photocopier, printer, or press. Most zines have text and images, which may be layed out on computer, pasted onto A4 paper with glue, or assembled in some other way. zines are idiosyncratic, and are often inexpensive.
