Buster Rayburn waits in his prison cell.

“Here I am again. They said I wouldn’t make it on the outside. If only I didn’t meet that dame.

Flashback to Buster leaving jail.

Buster in the bar, drinking his sorrows away.

Buster is greeted by a gangster who offers him a job. Buster turns down the job can’t keep his eyes of the gangster's girlfriend, Lacey Lane.

Lacey Lane returns to the bar another night, finding Buster. She whispers seductively in his ear. She has a plan which she needs Busters help for. They arrange to meet.

Lacey Lane tells Buster to kill her gangster boyfriend so they can run away with the money. She gives him a gun and kiss.

Buster finds the Gangster and shoots him as leaves his house one night.

Buster and Lacey meet up in the dingy motel room. She thanks him and promises to run away with him that night.

Buster goes to the railway station to meet with Lacey. He realises he’s been set up. A police officer says he’s going to take Buster back to jail. Lacey Lane watches in the distance.

Buster grabs the policeman’s gun in anger, and shoots Lacey Lane with it. She dies and Buster is taken back to prison.

“If only I walked away when I had the chance. You see, the dames always bring a man down. She won’t hurt any more suckers now.
