HUD’s Smoke-‐free Housing Rule(SmokeFree NYCHA)

20

By July 30, 2018 NYCHA must implement a smoke-‐free policy that prohibits the use of cigarettes and other prohibited tobacco products in certain areas:§ Public housing indoor common

areas (already covered)

§ Administrative office buildings (already covered)

§ Public housing units (NEW)

§ Outdoor areas within a 25 foot perimeter of residential and administrative buildings (NEW)

I hope residents follow the rules.

I want to quit smoking.

I hope I don’t get kicked out because I can’t quit smoking.
