Give Back Day Thursday, May 26th
Klamath Falls Downtown Association is partnering
with Klamath Union High School to once again bring
Give Back Day downtown. Give Back Day was created
as a way to inspire the youth of our community to
engage in community service efforts. In past years, KU
students have been tasked with graffiti removal, planting
flowers, painting murals, cleaning windows, and many
other essential projects to beautify our downtown.
This year KU students will be promoting downtown
beautification through a variety of projects including:
creating a new mural, cleaning up trails, removing
graffiti and thanks to a partnership with American Red
Cross they will be hosting a blood drive downtown.
One blood donor can help save three lives! The
Bloodmobile will be parked at the corner of 9th and
Main Street near BRD Printing. We need 32-35 donors
and are challenging downtown businesses to get
involved. Visit, www.redcrossblood.org sponsor code
GiveBack or you may call Rebecca at 714-604-7914 to
reserve your donation time. Blood donations are always
in high demand so let’s do this Klamath Falls!
New Downtown Park
This summer, Klamath Falls will be welcoming a new park to our community. Sugarman’s Corner Park will be located on the corner of 6th and Main Street in our downtown. The park will provide a welcoming space for anyone that spends time downtown and will soon prove to be a community favorite. Sugarman’s Corner Park is expected to spur cultural and economic revitalization and deepen a sense of pride and place. It will allow for people of all ages to enjoy being outdoors in the heart of downtown. The park is scheduled to be open early July 2016. For more information visit http://www.sugarmanscorner.com/
Lake Jam Oregon Klamath Falls will be hosting a new multi day festival;
Lake Jam Oregon. Lake Jam Oregon will boast plenty of
activities for all ages including corn hole and a wool pit.
Lake Jam Oregon will also have a beer garden, live music,
and a 3x3 basketball tournament with over $10,000 in cash
prizes. See http://lakejamoregon.com/ for more
information.

Hanging flower baskets are [almost] here!
Thanks to
volunteer
efforts and
generous
community
donations the
hanging flower basket
program will be returning this summer.
Hanging flower baskets will be installed on June 1st
and will remain up through the end of September.
This year you will note that there will be a decorative
banner adjacent to the flower basket instead of a
second flower basket. This is due to efforts to
conserve water and keep costs low.
KFDA appreciates the continued community support
toward downtown beautification. We are still some
dollars short of fully funding the hanging flower
baskets and are gladly taking donation. Please
consider donating, your dollars will lead to
immediate downtown beautification. Mail your
donations to PO Box 372 Klamath Falls, OR 97601
or contact our coordinator at 541-591-9444 for more
information.
