Hi  to  all  of  you,  hope  you  are  all  fine.  

Following  some  news  from  the  magic  world  of  Mammadù.  

In  May  we  had  our  school  holidays  and  so  we  went  to  visit  our  beautiful  city.  The  kids  love  to  go  to  town  so  they  were  all  dressed  up  and  really  sweet.    

First  stop  The  Christus  Church!  They  were  truly  amazed  by  the  only  painting  next  to  the  altar,  some  of  them  never  saw  a  painting!  For  Petrus  it  was  a  huge  experience  and  he  whispered  to  me  “Mammy  there  is  Jesus!”.  Then  there  was  the  organ  and  for  the  kids  it  was  unbelievable  that  one  plays  

that  instrument  even  with  the  feet.  

We  had  a  very  nice  guide  there,  very  children  friendly  and  able  to  explain  them  everything.    

From  there  we  moved  to  the  Alte  Feste  the  old  German  fort  which  is  now  a  museum.  While  they  were  busy  visiting  the  place  I  went  to  get  muffins  and  juice  for  them  for  break  time,  believing  that  after  all  that  culture  they  would  be  very  hungry.  And  so  it  was.    

When  I  met  them  again  and  asked  them  what  the  liked  most  in  the  museum,  all  of  them  were  agreeing:  “the  fishes”.  I  was  truly  astonished  because  as  far  as  I  knew  there  are  no  fishes  at  the  museum…  but  that’s  not  true,  there  are!!  There  is  a  little  fountain  in  the  middle  of  the  fort  and  there  are  fishes!!  And  they  were  the  highlight  of  our  trip.  

Can  you  believe?  Just  a  few  fishes?  Then  I  thought  that  these  children  most  probably  never  saw  a  real  fish.  At  Mammadù  they  eat  fish  every  week  because  it’s  healthy,  but  they  come  out  of  a  tin  and  where  should  they  have  seen  fishes  if  not  in  a  book!!!  Well  we  had  then  break  time  in  Parliament  Park  and  then  a  stop  at  the  playground  at  zoo  park,  they  deserved  it  as  the  behaved  impeccable.  

 Lukas,  one  of  our  great  1  learners  is  going  on  with  his  gym  classes  and  he  is  doing  so  well  that  he  will  participate  in  a  special  training  session  in  SA  during  August.  We  are  really  very  lucky,  because  the  7000  Namibian  Dollars,  but  as  Lukas  is  really  talented  the  club  covers  half  of  the  costs  and  so  we  could  effort  to  send  Lukas  too.  He  is  already  very  exited  and  we  got  also  his  passport  ready.  I  truly  believe  that  we  have  to  support  a  child  in  his  talent  and  help  him  in  any  way  we  can  to  improve.  A  talent  is  a  gift  of  God  and  we  have  to  do  everything  to  support  that.      

 Now  all  of  them  are  back  to  school  and  all  of  them  are  studying  hard,  because  we  tell  them  every  day  that  only  going  to  school  and  learning  the  most  they  can  because  it’s  very  important.
