Week 8 Term 4 December 5th 2019
Gardening and Art Day It was a pleasure to have Martin and Deborah back in the school on Monday working in the garden with children and creating art. Everyone was excited to meet Melissa Murray (Ms Murray) who will be our second teacher in 2020. Melissa joined us to meet students and get to know our garden. Aaron Sorenson, a visiting expert, had an amazing amount of knowledge to share. I hope to learn more from him next year and I’m looking forward to sharing his ideas at our next P&C meeting. Kinder Orientation – Day 3 We welcomed back Jasper, Zelda and Gus on Thursday with Sherlock and Charlie. It was another relaxed get together with our 2020 K-2 class. We all read ‘Possum Magic’, noticing the magical stars flowing out whenever Grandma Poss performed magic. We then joined Liz to roll out, decorate and bake our own magic stars. Percussion with David Hewitt As the year comes to an end, it was a lovely reminder of how fortunate we are at Tanja to have such a range of fabulous teachers and specialists that come to share their knowledge with our children. Watching and listening to their drumming session on Tuesday afternoon was joyous.
Student of the Week This week’s student of the week is Seth! Seth is being recognised for his consistent effort to engage and expand on his learning. There are plenty of distractions in a K-5 classroom, Seth has been making an extra effort this week to maintain his concentration. Keep honing those mindfulness skills Seth!
